Downloading and Installing PPS

If you are a brand new PPS user and wish to install the software, please follow the steps below.

Please note - If you are already using PPS then please do not install this version of PPS as this will overwrite any existing databases on your system, thus overwriting all of your client and clinic data.

Downloading PPS

Visit http://www.rushcliff.com/ppsdemodownload.php and request your access code.

2. Once you have received your access code email, you are free to start the download of PPS. Copy and paste the code into the corresponding field on our website and hit the Download PPS button.

Installing PPS

3. After this has downloaded, click to launch the installer:

4. This will launch the software installation. Select the location where you want to install PPS, and the PPS database. (The default is C:\PPSv4.0 - Please make sure your Windows User Account has full access to read and write to this directory)

5.Once the installation is complete, there will be a PPS Icon on your Windows Desktop, and a new PPS option on the Windows Start Menu. Select either one to start using the software.

Registering for Free

Now that PPS is installed on your computer, you will need to launch it from your Start menu. It will then prompt you with the adjacent box below.

Here you have the option to either login to our demonstration version of PPS or to register a free copy of the software. The latter will give you a fully live system limited to 100 patient records prior to purchase.

To start using PPS as your live database, you will need to register as a new system. When you open PPS, choose the ‘Register’ button.

To complete the registration, follow the steps as prompted on screen. It is essential that you have an internet connection at this stage.

You will now be ready to activate PPS – hit the Register Now! button. This will issue you with a system registration number.

Accessing the Demonstration

Alternatively, if you want to access our demonstration version of the software, you can do so by clicking the ‘Login’ button. Here you will be logged in to a database which has a few dummy clients already set up for you to use during your evaluation of PPS.

When you first log in, you will be presented with our help assistant, Private Practice Pete, who offers hints and videos to the basics of PPS.

PPS will not install?

The most common reason for PPS not installing correctly is if your Windows user account does not have full access rights to read and write to the C:\ directory, so make sure that you install the software with the administrative account for that PC.

You may also find that your firewall or anti-virus software blocks certain features of PPS, which in turn will cause error messages to appear. Although this is rare, it is still a consideration. Try to ensure that your security software is set to ignore PPS.
