Installing and Using Custom Fonts within PPS

PPS allows you to select which font you wish to use within the software. The following guide will explain how to install fonts on various operating systems and then explain how these external fonts can be used within PPS.

Before any fonts can be used, please unzip all fonts before trying to install them, preferably into a separate folder on your computer. If you select a manual installation process, you can unzip files right into the respective font folder.

Windows

Supported fonts:

TrueType, OpenType, PostScript type 1, Windows bit mapped FON

Installation process under XP, Vista and 7:

Close all applications.

Select the download font files and copy them into C:\Windows\Fonts folder.

Mac OS X

If you use are a PPS Online Mac user you will already have the font readily available to use.

If you run Windows emulation software on your Mac for a locally installed version of PPS then please follow the steps above.

Ubuntu Linux

Supported fonts:

TrueType and OpenType

Installation process to install for single user:

Close all applications.

Open > /home folder.

In the menu open > View and > Show Hidden FilesYou will now see the > .fonts folder. If not, create that folder.

Copy font files into the > .fonts folder.

Selecting a Custom Font within PPS

There are four areas within PPS whereby you can change the font settings. These are described below:

Consultation Notes Font Size: This can be found by navigating to your PPS Menu > Tools > Options > General System Options > Clinical Notes Tab.



Diary Display Font Size: This can be found by navigating to your PPS Menu > Tools > Options > Appointment Diary Options > Appointments Tab.


Custom Forms Font Size: This can be found by navigating to your PPS Menu > Tools > Custom Form Designer > Select a Custom Form > Modify > Modify Form Settings.


Task Bar Font Size: This can be found by navigating to your PPS Menu > Tools > Setup Practitioners and System Users > Highlight User > Modify > Preferences Tab > Customise the task Bar.
