Performing a Client Details Update

The following guide will take you through the process to perform a 'bulk' update of the client details in PPS from a report.

Creating your Report

To access the Update screen in PPS you will need to be logged in as the System Administrator. You will then need to run a Client List report by going to Reports > Reports & Mail Merge > Client.


As with all Reports in PPS, you can apply criteria to restrict which records are included in the report. This will be particularly applicable if you are only looking to update the records of clients who live in a certain Town, for example.


Updating the Records

When you are satisfied that the records contained in the report are those which need updating, you can select the 'Finish' button and choose the 'Update' option. You will then be presented with the Update screen.


There are four options to the Report Database Updates screen:


Browse

This will show you a list of clients who are contained in the report and as such, whose details will be updated in this screen.

Client Status

This allows you the option to Update the status of the clients in your report. After selecting the status, hit the 'GO' button for the updates to take place.

Client Address/Profile

Here you can update the client address fields or any profile fields which you have set up in the system (ie. Source of Introduction). As before, when you have determined the appropriate field, hit the 'GO' button for the updates to take place.

Critical Notes

The final option allows you to add a critical note to all of the clients in your report. Hit the 'GO' button for the updates to take place.

Updates Complete

Once the updates have been completed you will receive the message below. You will then notice that all of the clients contained in your report have had their details updated accordingly.
