TeamViewer is a third-party program that allows us access to your computer to assist in support queries in real time. For scheduled set-ups and consultancy work it is important that we get access at the appointed time when the computer is not required for immediate use.
Step One - Install TeamViewer
TeamViewer can be downloaded using the following links:
Once the download has completed you will need to run the file to begin the installation process. Follow the prompts until you are presented with the PPS TeamViewer window
Mac - Some Macs restrict the use of apps from parties that are not registered with Apple. If you are unable to open TeamViewer because of this then you can follow the steps in this guide to open TeamViewer on your Mac.
Step Two - Your ID
You will now be presented with your ID, a unique nine or ten digit number. This is the code your support specialist will require to gain access to your PC.
Step Three - Using TeamViewer
It is important that you do not close your TeamViewer window until the support session is completed as this will disconnect the support team from your PC.
During the call, your support specialist may want to communicate with you, or you with them. This is possible using the session box that will appear in the bottom right of your screen while the connection is active.
Pressing the chat icon will open up the chat box which you can use to send messages to our support team.
Note: It is only possible to run one version of TeamViewer at any one time. If you already have TeamViewer running on your PC this will need to be closed before running the PPS Support version of TeamViewer. The download below will attempt to close any version of TeamViewer running on your PC. Please note you may need to provide your PC's admin credentials to run this if you are not logged into an administrator's account.
