Please Note: This guide is only applicable to Online Appointment Booking v2. If you have acquired PPS Online Booking since October 2016 or have received an upgrade since this time then you will likely be on v3 and can find the relevant guide here. If you're not sure which version you are running then contact our support team via support@rushcliff.com
Section One - Practitioner Availability
You must select at least one Practitioner/Diary User for use with Online Appointment Booking. You are able to set a different Display Name for each Practitioner/Diary User.
To access this screen you will need to go to Tools > Set Up Practitioners and System Users and then highlight the practitioner required and select Modify.
Section Two - Appointment Types
You must have at least one Appointment Type setup in PPS which is set to be Visible Online.
Again, you can set the Online Display Name for each Appointment Type. You are also able to set the order in which the Appointment Types are displayed in the Online Appointment Booking list.
You must then select at least one Practitioner/Diary User for whom the Appointment Type applies.
All Appointment Types used for Online Appointment Booking MUST have a duration of at least one minute.
To access Appointment Types you can navigate to Tools > Look Up Tables > Appointment Types.
Section Three - Location and Diary Availability
If you use Locations within PPS then you will need to set each one to 'Visible Online' in the Look Up tables area of PPS. Here you can also set an online Display Name - if no Display Name is entered here then the default Location name will be used.
To access Locations you can navigate to Tools > Look Up Tables >Locations.
Most importantly, there MUST be suitable Diary Availability set up for your chosen Practitioners/Diary Users, Appointment Types and Locations - for more details, use Setting Up Appointment Diaries and Diary Views.
Section Four - Once you are Set Up
PPS Online Users:
If you are a PPS Online user then that's it! You are all set up and ready to go.
Local PPS System Users:
If you run a local version of PPS, you will need to run the PPSv4 Sync Server program on your main database machine - this synchronises all of your newly booked appointments with your main system.
