Section 1 - The Microsoft Remote Desktop Application
In order to access your PPS Hosted system you will need to install the Microsoft Remote Desktop app. This is a free app which you can download from the app store on your Mac. You will need to ensure that your version of macOS is compatible with the latest version of the app.
Section 2 - Setting up your PPS Hosted Connection
a. All the details you'll require to set up the connection can be found in the email entitled Your PPS Hosted Login Credentials. You would have received this when you first acquired the Hosted system or user. If you'd like us to re-send these details to the registered address on your account just make a request to our support team via an email to email@example.com
The information you'll need is your server address, username and password which will be displayed as in the example below.
b. Open up the app. If it's your first time accessing the app choose Add Desktop in the centre of the screen. Alternatively, press + and chose Desktop.
c. Click Show More, you'll need the additional options found here.
Then, in the PC name field enter the details of the server provided to you in the email containing your account details. This is shown in the image in section a and will have the format server#.ppshosted.com. We've used server0 as an example below, but this will not be the name of your server. Next, on the user account drop down choose Add User Account...
d. In the Add User Account screen enter the login details sent to you in your Hosted Credentials email. These credentials are case-sensitive and should not be copy and pasted from elsewhere. Give the connection a Friendly Name which you can use to identify it should you set up multiple remote connections on this machine. Choose Save.
e. Next, in the General section enter "PPS Gateway" in the Friendly Name field. Then, from the Gateway drop down choose Add Gateway...
f. In the Add Gateway screen enter the Server Name "gateway.ppshosted.com". Choose the User Account you set up earlier and confirm the Friendly Name. Choose Save.
g. Finally, choose Save on the Add Desktop screen. Now, on the main screen on the app you'll find your remote desktop connection which you can double click to connect to PPS Hosted.
