Please Note: This guide is only applicable to users accessing our new Express v2 system. If you have not had your system updated to this version of Express you can contact support@rushcliff.com to see if you are eligible for an upgrade.
For added security on your PPS Express login, we recommend that you set up Two Factor Authentication (2FA) on your Express login.
2FA provides an extra level of security on your login meaning that if your device is stolen or lost or your password is accessed you still have a second layer of security prompting access to your sensitive PPS data.
With 2FA enabled on your Express login, you will log into Express with your normal username and password and then you will be prompted to enter a code that is generated by an Authenticator app.
Please note - 2FA is set up and controlled by each individual Express user. Each user will need to follow these steps to set up 2FA for their own login.
Install Authenticator App
You will need to install a 3rd party authenticator app on your phone to generate the code needed for the 2FA access.
If you do not have an authenticator app installed we recommend the following:
iPhone/iPad:
Authy
OR
Android:

Setting up 2FA Security in Express
Once you have the Authenticator app installed, navigate to the Settings menu in the top right corner and then select Personal Settings. Then select Security.
With your Authenticator app open you will need to 'Add a new account' and then scan the QR code showing on your Express settings page (do not scan the QR code in the screenshot below).
If you have any issues scanning the QR code, you can select 'Having trouble scanning QR code' and this will provide a 'setup key' instead that can be used to set up the authenticator.
Once the code for 'PPS Express' has been added to your Authenticator app you will need to enter the 6-digit verification code and then select Enable.
Logging in
When you next log into Express you will enter your Username and Password as normal and you will then be prompted to enter your 2FA code from your app:
Once you enter the code you will be logged into Express. Each browser that a user logs into will require authentication, once logged into a browser the authentication will last 7 days and then you will need to enter the authentication code upon next logging in.
Account Recovery
What happens if you lose your device with the authenticator app?
During the setup process, you will be given a Recovery Code. This is a long, random, one-time code that can be used if you have lost your device. Once the Recovery Code is used you will be required to set up 2FA again.
The PPS System Administrator can also reset 2FA for a user which will allow the user to set it up again.
Once you have set up 2FA you will receive your account Recovery Code that you will need to save in a safe place that can then be used if you do not have your device with your 2FA code.
Once you have saved the Recovery Code you will need to tick the box to confirm that you have saved the code somewhere safe and you can Complete the setup.
