Payments within a date range by method
This guide will show you how to produce a report to display the payments taken in a particular date range sorted by the method of payment. It's recommended that you read our general reporting guide first, to better understand PPS' reporting capabilities.
Section 1 - Selecting a Report
All reports can be found via Reports > Reports & Mail Merge and are sorted into sections. For this report, we’re going to open the Payments Report to use the Reports Wizard.
Section 2 - Select
This screen gives you the option to show only payments which have been allocated to invoices. If you want to show all payments (even those remaining as credit on the account), choose all three options here.
Section 3 - Date Range
Now we need to select the date range in which the payments were made. This date range will apply to the date of the payment, regardless as to whether the invoice it is allocated to was not raised during this period.
Section 4 - Breakdown
Here, we’re going to choose to breakdown by Payment Method. You can also choose a second breakdown option if required.
Section 5 - Criteria
This section allows us to be particular about the results. For example, you may not want to show any cash payments in this report, so we would apply the following filter.
Section 6 - Print/Preview Options
This section allows us to choose extra snippets of information to view in the report Preview mode. Toggle to include things such as Additional Payment Details.
