Printing and Scanning on a PPS Local System
1. Printing
Whenever you want to print something in PPS you will see the icon for printing and you can follow the prompts that will take you to the printing options.
PPS will use the default printing options in the Devices and Printers on your computer so when you select to print it should default to the printer that you require.
2. Printing to PDF
You are able to print areas of the system to PDF. This will include invoices, client details, consultations, reports, the diary and more. Just look for the Save as PDF/File button when you go to print.
When you select this option you will be able to select the required file type followed by OK.
This will then allow you to save the file locally where you can access it outside of PPS.
3. Scanning
You can scan documents into PPS through the document library in the activity screen or the consultation screen.
You will need to have the client selected and can then select the Practitioner, Date and Treatment Episode to associate it to.
You will also need to enter a heading for the document and this will be how you recognise it in PPS.
After selecting Scan the system will prompt you to select your scanner where it will allow you to scan into PPS.
You can access some basic Scanner Settings in PPS by selecting Tools > Options > General System Options > Scanner Settings.
You can select from the different options in the Scanner Selection and the Scanner Settings depending on the type of scanner and requirements:
You can Change the Scanning Image Quality and the Image Quality:
The Image Settings can also be adjusted where required:
Any changes made to these settings will need to be saved by selecting Apply > OK.
These settings will apply when specifically scanning inside PPS but may be overridden in PPS depending on the scanner settings on the computer. These settings will need to work together
Printing and Scanning from a PPS Hosted system
When you are printing or scanning from a hosted the system the printing process will be the same in the system but how you print will be slightly different.
You will need to ensure that you have TS Scan and TS Print installed on the computer in order to print and scan from a PPS Hosted system.
TS Print and Scan will communicate between your PPS system on the server and your printer/scanner and the drivers that you have installed. It is important to make sure that your printer/scanner drivers are TWAIN compliant in order to work with the TS Print and Scan program.
1. Printing Using TS Print
When you opt to print anything from PPS Hosted you will have the following options:
a. TSPrint Default - Will print immediately to your default local printer. (For Windows users only)
b. TSPrint Printer (Mac OSX/Linux) - For mac users only, will print directly to your default local Printer.
Scanning using TS Scan
When selecting to scan through the document library you will be presented with the following options.
a. By selecting TS Scan it will use the scanner the TWAIN drivers installed for the scanner.
b. This will open the TS Scan Screen where you can select Scan. It will communicate with your scanner and open your own scanner drivers in PPS where the document will then be scanned in and can be saved.
